Height of Laziness

Laziness (also called indolence) is a disinclination to activity or exertion despite having the ability to do so. It is often used as a pejorative; related terms for a person seen to be lazy include couch potato, slacker, and bludger. Feelings of laziness may be a symptom of mental illness, or a medical condition. Chronic laziness may be an underlying psychological condition.

One of the seven deadly sins in Catholic thought is sloth, which is often defined as spiritual and/or physical apathy or laziness. Sloth is recommended against in the Epistle to the Hebrews, and associated with wickedness in one of the parables of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew. In the Wisdom books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, it is stated that laziness can lead to poverty. According to Peter Binsfeld’s Binsfeld’s Classification of Demons, demon Belphegor is thought to be its chief demon.

  1. I don’t get what’s going on in the housefire photo..?

    • Are you blind? says:

Uh no……….. all the other firefighters are still working to put the fire out and he’s standing around eating cheese puffs!!!!

    • I thought she was using some sort of dispenser on the barrel of cheese puffs – instead of, you know, just reaching into the container to pull out a handful.

  2. The last photo of the lady with the stroller is actually not because she is lazy, she is an amputee and so in order to take her young niece for a walk she has to use a segway. Please take it off.

    • No she’s not an amputee, you can clearly see she has both legs. Unless you mean she’s had half brain chopped hoff, in which case I agree with you.

      • because you can totally see through her pants and know whether those are regular human legs or some prosthetic

      • U R Douchebag says:

Oh, and a note to the moderator. Before you delete my comment because of my “inappropriate languge” you should read that link and moderate your web page with an apology to the segway lady.

  3. My theory is that they only use the car on the small island for getting stuff from the boat to the lighthouse more easily. But then again, maybe not :P .

    • It is still stupid and totally lazy and careless and iresponsable, it is just about 30 meters to the edge to the house if you can carry it to the car to the house you con carry it 29 meters more, i mean come on all that energy wasted in bringing the car and in an island in the middle of the sea.

      • Yeah, because people living on a tiny island NEVER need to go anywhere else – like to get FOOD or anything, and food would NEVER be in a big city far away from wherever the island was…

        Good grief.

        • Awesome Anonymous says:

WTF how did they get the car on the island in the first place. in order to be so lazy they had to be the opposite, and if it was only for moving items to the house, they could have just brought a lawn mower with a wagon, or just a wagon and pulled it

          • Maybe they are driving someone who’s in a wheelchair or an old man or something. or a whole bunch of food. There ARE possibilities.

        • How would they drive that car into the city? Drive through the water? They should park that car out by the area they dock in when they go to the city.

They certainly don’t take the car onto the boat whenever they go out; that boat is not nearly big enough.

      • ummm… would you want to walk from the dock to your house when its pouring freezing cold rain?

  4. the car on the island could be for traspoting shopping from the jetty to the house :S

  5. the car, i think is from a movie.. i think it was “made of honor”, the picture was kind of familiar and i was wondering the same thing when i saw the movie.. you can see it at the end part

  15. The woman in a wheelchair may be paralyzed from the waist down, or have an illness that keeps her from being able to stand. Just because she’s fat does not mean she doesn’t have a medical need for the wheelchair & is at least trying to get work done in spite of it. would YOU in that situation. Not funny, not nice.I am a heavy set woman who has several illnesses that make it impossible to walk or stand for more than a min or 2, & even in the chair I try do keep active & be independent, so I feel for her. THINK before you kick people in the teeth, who’s situation you know not.
